Central Beach is evocative of a traditional beach town with a low scale development pattern representative of the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's, with a few notable exceptions.  It is home to the Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel with the Oceanwalk retail complex, as well as the Casino Site.

The ten block, 1,000 foot stretch of the Broadwalk between the Hollywood Beach Hotel and the Casino forms the heart of the Beach.  Significant retail development at both ends of this distinct spine will encourage pedestrian traffic between the nodes, increasing opportunities for the existing merchant base.

The following models represent the physical land use of the beach.   Each of the buildings are color coded as follows:

Commercial Buildings, Hotels, Motels, Extended Stay, Residences, Condominiums, Apartments, Institutions, Mixed Use, Restaurants

For survey purposes, Central Beach has been broken into five segments:

Section 4:    Sherman Street to Harding Street
Section 5:    Harding Street to Hayes Street
Section 6:    Hayes Street to New York Street (Including the Casino Site)
Section 7:    New York Street to Oregon Street (Including the Hollywood Beach Resort)
Section 8:    Monroe Street to Dafodil Terrace
