Central Beach Section 7: New York Street to Oregon Street (Including the Hollywood Beach Resort) This sector is centered around and dominated by the Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel, originally constructed by Joseph Wesley Young in the early 1920's. The eight story resort (most of which are now condominiums) complex represents a mix of land uses, including the large Oceanwalk retail area at the baste of the tower, facing the beach. The major land uses in this sector are comprised of low scale commercial buildings, motels (including a significant number of extended stay facilities) and apartment buildings to the north of the resort, with a significant number of low and mid-rise condominiums to the south. Click on the linked buildings in the picture above to display images of each structure. The buildings are color coded as follows: Commercial Buildings, Hotels, Motels, Residences, Condominiums, Apartments, Institutions, Extended Stay, Restaurants |
