Central Beach Section 5: Sherman Street to Hayes Street Sector 5 is perhaps one of the intact areas of the Beach representative of the 50's & 60's development of Central Beach. The major land uses in this sector are a mix of low scale motels (including a significant number of extended stay facilities) and apartment buildings, with the high rise Howard Johnson hotel acting as a visual landmark.
