Having
investigated Hollywood Beach, we have become convinced that the key to the
future of the Beach lies at the "Casino" Site, at Johnson Street,
between the Broadwalk and the Intracoastal. This large parcel of
City owned land has been the subject of previous development proposals and is
presently the subject of litigation.
Our purpose here is to offer an alternative development proposal, A
VILLAGE SQUARE AT HOLLYWOOD BEACH, combining beach oriented public amenities
and recreational facilities within a modern
retail and restaurant complex. Such a facility would serve both Hollywood
residents and the transient population.
