The Village Square would be the
heart of the proposed alternative project, serving as a central, public gathering plaza for residents and tourists alike. Retail and entertainment venues,
along with restaurants and cafes would be arrayed around the court on two levels, providing a range of dining, shopping and recreation options. A shopping
arcade along the perimeter of the square would offer shaded seating opportunities during the heat of the afternoon.
Built around a
children's water playground, and featuring a large, outdoor interactive Video Wall, the square will
also have an artificial river to define the play area, leading to a waterfall down the entry steps to the Broadwalk. The "river" would
feature water jet fountains which would add an animated element to the space.
