The alternative proposal for A VILLAGE SQUARE AT HOLLYWOOD BEACH would include a series of water features designed reinforce the beachfront nature of the project.  An artificial "river" would be carved into the Village Square, defining Pirate's Cove, and evoking images of ancient villages which naturally located along the banks of small streams.

The "river" would lead naturally to the sea, falling as a waterfall down the main steps toward the Broadwalk, terminating where water jets provide a cooling and lyrical dancing fountain.   Water jets would also be mounted along the "river" to animate the stream.
